Tommie senior safety Isaac Seering, NDA 2014, is among 52 players voted onto the 2017 Division III Football Academic All-America team announced Wednesday by the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA). Seering is among 25 first-team selections.

A Green Bay, Wis., native, Seering received first or second team all-conference honors each of last three seasons. During that span, he helped the Tommies win three conference titles (25-0 against MIAC opponents) and build a 37-4 overall record.

Over his four-year career, he finished with 159 tackles; four interceptions (one touchdown); two forced fumbles; one recovered fumble; 13 pass break-ups; and 6.5 tackles for loss.

He helped the 2017 Toms post an 11-2 record and advance to the national playoff quarterfinal round. He was part of a defensive unit that led all 660 NCAA teams in fewest yards allowed, fewest rushing yards allowed and fewest first downs allowed, and also ranked in the top seven in pass efficiency defense and scoring defense.

Seering has a 3.92 grade-point average, with a major in Marketing Management and a minor in Spanish. He's been voted to the CoSIDA Academic All-District team three times and wil make the conference All-Academic team three times. A member of Beta Gamma Sigma honorary, Seering has been been active off the field in the team's St. Jude Fundraising project and also has volunteered with neighborhood clean-up days. He also has worked business internships locally with Ecolab and Schneider companies.
